I know. You've been waiting for this. Well, here it is.

The future of Hyperdesk... Windows Vista style.

First, this is a very early build of the DarkMatter: Subspace Alloy Edition theme. The icons you see are applied by an app but not Hyperdesk... yet. The icons will be full 256 x 256 when we start launching these since they were built larger to begin with. The code for the icons including Live folders will be ours shortly. So that's covered.

The patch is solid. It was installed on a machine with no Service Pack which was then upgraded to SP 1 and didn't break and then was upgraded to SP 2 Beta and didn't break. But let's say it does. Well we're partnering with a software company and we're going to also re-skin the Start Menu and Taskbar separately. I've designed a thinner Start Menu that is clean and sexy. So if for some reason the patch does break you'll still have your Start Menu, Taskbar, wallpaper, icons and widgets working while we fix the issues. That's if the patch actually breaks. We don't think it will.

So for all of you Vista users that keep nagging me about a Vista solution... your wait is becoming less and less. :-)
